China's automobile exports reached 1.01 million units in August, exceeding one million units for three consecutive months

China News Service, Beijing, September 10 (Reporter Liu Wenwen) In August, China exported 1.01 million vehicles, a month-on-month decrease of 3.2% and a year-on-year increase of 65.3%. China's automobile exports have exceeded 1 million units for three consecutive months.

This reporter learned this from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as the "China Association of Automobile Manufacturers") on the 10th. Data show that in August, China's automobile production and sales completed 2.684 million units and 2.712 million units respectively, a month-on-month increase of 4.3% and 4.9% respectively, and a year-on-year decrease of 4.7% and 5.1% respectively.

In terms of new energy vehicles, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in August were 1.653 million and 1.643 million respectively, a year-on-year increase of 18.9% and 17.8% respectively. In August, 526,000 new energy vehicles were exported, a month-on-month decrease of 5% and a year-on-year increase of 1.3 times. New energy vehicle exports have accounted for more than 50% of all vehicle exports for three consecutive months.

Chen Shihua, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that in August, automobile consumption subsidies continued to escalate in many places, car companies’ promotional activities were active, and automobile production and sales increased month-on-month but declined slightly year-on-year. Among them, exports have maintained rapid growth, with monthly export volume exceeding 1 million vehicles for three consecutive months, becoming a key increase in stabilizing the industry; the dominant position of new energy vehicles has continued to be consolidated, and the proportion of monthly sales has reached a new high.

The recently held executive meeting of the State Council of China clearly stated that we must vigorously rectify the problem of large companies arrears with small and medium-sized enterprises and improve industry account payment rules. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers stated that relevant departments have taken active actions in regulating account payments and the behavior of automobile companies going overseas. The continued deepening of governance in the automotive industry will promote the industry's shift from pursuing scale and speed to quality and safety, and contribute to the healthy and sustainable development of the industry.
