Fukui Prefecture announced on the 1st that 165 homes had been flooded due to record-breaking heavy rains in the prefecture at the end of August. Damage in Fukui City, which had not been reported so far, has begun to appear, and some areas remain under investigation.

According to the prefecture, residential flooding damage has been reported in the cities of Fukui, Sakai, Ono, Katsuyama, and Sabae, as well as the town of Eiheiji. By 9 a.m. on the 1st, 26 buildings were flooded above the floors and 139 buildings were flooded below the floors.

In Fukui City, damage was reported to 11 buildings flooded above the floor and 36 buildings flooded below the floor, mainly in the Morita area, which was widely flooded.

The disaster-stricken areas have begun accepting disaster waste. On the 1st, Sakai City opened temporary storage sites in soccer stadium parking lots, and Fukui City opened temporary storage sites in three locations, including the Morita and Miyama districts. Ono City and Katsuyama City accept garbage directly delivered to their garbage treatment facilities and also collect it door-to-door.
