The motor rally in Kalmykia is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the appearance of Jesus Christ in Elista

The route of the rally began at the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the village of Troitskoye, where witnesses to the appearance of the Lord Semyon Bondarenko and his wife Maria lived. The final point was the Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius, under construction, in Elista.

On the Feast of the Beheading of John the Baptist, September 11, 1946, parishioners and the priest of the Elista Church of the Exaltation of the Cross saw Jesus Christ in rays of light in priestly robes during the liturgy. The eightieth anniversary of this event is solemnly celebrated in Kalmykia on September 9 and 10. The icon, considered miraculous, was painted for Easter 1947 from the words of Semyon Bondarenko, who went on foot to Stavropol to paint it, and then brought it to Elista.
