U.S. and British defense chiefs meet. British defense minister: Both sides agree to restore Ukraine’s Starlink access rights

The United States and Ukraine have recently experienced huge differences. These include U.S. President Trump’s resumption of imports of Russian diesel, his unbridled announcement of an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia, and reports that the U.S. has suspended military intelligence sharing and restricted the satellite system “Starlink”. British Defense Secretary Wes Streeting, who is visiting the United States, said that he and U.S. War Secretary Pete Hegseth agree to restore Ukraine's Starlink access.

In an interview with the Fox News program, Streeting said that the recent events between the United States and Ukraine highlighted the importance of allies working together to move forward. He quoted the Catholic saint Saint Francis of Assisi: "May we bring harmony where there is discord."

Streeting emphasized that at some point, the United Kingdom will regard mediating disputes and reuniting alliances as its role and responsibility. "We need President Trump to cooperate with Ukraine. Ending the war through diplomacy is equally important as ensuring that Ukraine obtains the weapons it needs and is free from Russian aggression."

According to Musk, CEO of the space exploration company "SpaceX", the ownership of the military-grade version of Starlink, "StarShield", is controlled by the U.S. government, and any speed or usage restrictions depend on the decisions of the U.S. military and the president. The latest Reuters report quoted officials as saying that the order to limit the effectiveness of Ukraine's Star Shield came from within the White House.
