Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar was pelted with eggs during a public event

The "Control" news website said that the live broadcast on Magyar's official YouTube channel documented the moment someone from the crowd threw an egg at him, while he was giving his speech from the podium in front of the city's residents.

Police officers in civilian clothes quickly arrested the man who threw the egg, but he resisted their intervention at first, which prompted them to throw him to the ground.

The website explained that the man stated after the accident that he felt remorse for not being able to hit Magyar in the head.

This incident comes in addition to a series of humiliating incidents that Magyar was recently exposed to as an expression of objection to the policies of the new Prime Minister, as he was previously subjected to spit on while visiting the western train station in the capital, Budapest, and he was also pelted with wine in the city of Pécs.

It is noteworthy that Peter Magyar, leader of the TISA party, assumed the presidency of the Hungarian government in May 2026 after his party won an overwhelming parliamentary majority, thus ending the rule of former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, which lasted 16 years.
