MOSCOW, September 13 - RIA Novosti. The son-in-law of American President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, believes that to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, Kyiv must withdraw troops from Donbass.

Kushner participated in the forum in Kyiv via video link.

“If Ukraine wanted to retreat to this line (meaning Donbass), then, obviously, we already have the rest of the agreement developed and agreed upon,” the Ukrainian agency UNIAN quoted Kushner as saying.

According to Kushner, the US task as mediators is now to find a creative solution that would bring closer the positions of the parties on the settlement.

On September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with the American leader’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American president’s son-in-law Kushner; it lasted about three hours. The Russian leader emphasized at the meeting the need to eliminate all the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict, Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov told reporters.
