8th Pay Commission Schedules New Delhi Meetings for Employee Consultations

After a brief pause in its stakeholder consultations, the 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) has come back announcing a fresh schedule for meetings with associations, federations and unions representing central government and Union Territory (UT) employees.

In a statement issued on Thursday, July 23, 2026, the commission said that it would hold the next round of interactions in New Delhi in August, offering another opportunity to employee bodies and other stakeholders to present their demands and recommendations.

The update about the Delhi meeting came after the commission took a pause of about two weeks after completing its Kolkata meetings on July 9 and 10. During this period, many central government employee and pensioner bodies had expressed concerns over the pace of the commission's work and the possibility of delays.

When will the 8th Pay Commission hold meetings in Delhi?

According to the notice by the 8th Pay Commission, interactions will be held with associations, federations and unions of central government and UT employees located or registered in Delhi on August 7 and 10, 2026.

In these meetings, the pay commission takes employee and pensioner bodies’ and other stakeholders’ suggestions on pay, pension, fitment factor, promotions, work conditions and many other employee issues.

Who can seek an appointment with the 8th Pay Commission for Delhi meetings?

The commission said that stakeholders who have already submitted their memorandum but have not yet interacted with the commission in Delhi or any state/UT can request an appointment.

Such organisations must submit their request by July 31, 2026, along with their unique memo ID, the commission said adding that it would communicate about the venue and meeting time separately.

Is this the 8th Pay Commission’s final meeting with stakeholders?

The 8th Pay Commission has also clarified that this would not be the final round of consultations.

The commission plans to conduct additional meetings in Delhi as well as various States and Union Territories in the coming months.

Organisations located outside the Delhi NCR region will be able to seek appointments for interactions in their respective state/UT or a nearby state/UT. The commission said that future schedules will be published on its official website.

8th Pay Commission data submission deadline extended

Earlier, the 8th Pay Commission also extended the deadline for ministries and government departments to submit their employee data.

The 8th Pay Commission said in a statement: “As various ministries, departments and union territories have been unable to complete the submission of the requisite data within the stipulated timeline, it has been decided to extend the last date for the submission of data through the data collection portal up to July 31, 2026.”

8th Pay Commission is not accepting data through hard copies, email

The 8th Pay Commission has reiterated that only the data submitted through its portal will be accepted. The commission has asked stakeholders not to submit data through hard copies or emails.
