Moscow asked for 9 years and 10 months in prison for ex-manager of Rusnano Andrey Kushnarev

In the Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow, arguments were held in the criminal case of former Rusnano top manager Andrei Kushnarev, accused of particularly large embezzlement. Kommersant reports this.

The prosecutor representing the state prosecution stated that the defendant's guilt had been proven and requested a sentence of 9 years and 10 months in prison.

According to investigators, the former managing director for investment activities of Rusnano Kushnarev, who is the author of the project for the production of memory chips, together with another ex-head of the state corporation Yuri Udaltsov, stole more than 7.5 billion rubles allocated for the implementation of the Crocus project to create the production of magnetoresistive RAM in Russia.

Udaltsov is on the international wanted list. He is now being tried in absentia for the theft of 6.7 billion rubles during the creation of the so-called Chubais tablet - a flexible gadget for Russian schoolchildren, also not put into production. For this crime, the general director of Plastic Logic, a subsidiary of Rusnano, Boris Galkin was sentenced to nine years in prison.

The former head of Rusnano, Anatoly Chubais, who led the state corporation from 2008 to 2020, does not have procedural status in any of the criminal cases under investigation, the newspaper notes.
