Trump criticizes Iran's nuclear development at event commemorating 25th anniversary of 9/11 attacks

Regarding the September 11 terrorist attacks 25 years ago on the 8th (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized, "Our country is bigger, better, and stronger than ever before."

President Trump attended the 'Steel Across America' event held at Ellipse Park, south of the White House in Washington, D.C., and said, "Now that a long time has passed since the September 11 attacks, we gather on another Tuesday morning in September to reaffirm the sacred pledge we made 25 years ago."

This event was organized to commemorate the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks ahead of the 25th anniversary.

The Tunnel to Tower Foundation, a non-profit foundation, has been exhibiting a 21-foot-long (approximately 6.4m) steel beam weighing 7.6 tons recovered from the remains of the South Tower of the World Trade Center (WTC) in New York that collapsed during the September 11 terrorist attacks, touring the United States since last May.

The event concluded with the Washington DC exhibition on the second Tuesday of September this year, coinciding with the day of the terrorist attack, which was the second Tuesday of September 2001.

“So much has changed since that day, but this dented piece of steel placed on the Ellipse today is a reminder that America is a nation endowed with a power that no fire can burn, no evil can conquer, and no terror can destroy,” Trump said.

Regarding the Iran war, which is now in its seventh month, he said, "The reason we are fighting now is because there was a country that wanted nuclear weapons. They came close to having nuclear weapons, but now they have no chance. They will never have nuclear weapons, and they have paid a huge price."

At the event, President Trump also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Wells Crowder, a stockbroker who died when the South Tower of the WTC collapsed while rescuing many people during the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks committed by Al-Qaeda, an Islamic fundamentalist group led by Osama bin Laden, were recorded as the worst tragedy since the founding of the United States. About 3,000 people were killed when four hijacked civilian aircraft crashed into two WTC buildings and the Pentagon (Department of Defense) building, respectively, and crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
