However, problems have also emerged during the trial operation, including a lack of lifeguard manpower, which has led to the reduction of open water channels in the swimming pool, a total of three shower heads stolen from the shower room, and the underground parking lot has not yet been opened. Parking chaos in the surrounding area has caused some people to be ticketed by the police.
In this regard, Municipal Sports Director Xu Yanhui said that the Longgang National Sports Center will be closed after the trial operation. It is expected to be officially operational at 6 am on September 28 and open from 6 am to 10 pm every day. The city government will continue to improve manpower and parking issues to provide the public with a better sports environment. He also announced that the parking lot will be open for free parking from tomorrow to the 20th during the trial operation.
City Councilor Liang Weichao said that he has received many complaints from the public recently. Some people parked their cars and motorcycles on sidewalks or red lines due to insufficient parking spaces in the surrounding areas, and were ticketed by the police. Some people even received 5 or 6 tickets a day. City councilor Wei Jun and councilor candidate Liu Anqi are also concerned about the traffic problems around the sports stadium. They believe that the demand for parking on Longgang Road and surrounding roads increased significantly during the trial operation, and some people parked illegally because they could not find parking spaces. Although traffic violations should still be dealt with according to law, the city government should simultaneously provide sufficient parking space and require the city government to complete improvements before official operation.
Liang Weichao and others are also concerned about the queuing problem in the swimming pool, pointing out that due to the insufficient lifesaving manpower in the trial operation plan of the sports hall, only 4 swimming pool waterways can be opened for two days, and there are long queues during peak hours, affecting the public's use. In addition, three shower heads were stolen from the shower room in the museum, indicating that there were still management and manpower scheduling problems during the trial operation.
Xu Yanhui explained that due to the shortage of lifeguards in the swimming pool during the trial operation, and only four waterways in the swimming pool were temporarily open, the Sports Bureau has urged the operation center to actively recruit personnel and provide lifesaving training courses. At the same time, it has continued to report to the central government, hoping to adjust the lifeguard certification standards and improve the overall manpower shortage problem.
As for the parking part, the underground parking lot of the sports hall has been completed and is currently being registered with the Transportation Bureau. It is expected to be open for normal use before the official operation at the end of September. In order to meet the parking demand during the trial operation period, the parking lot in the museum will also be open for free parking from the 17th to the 20th.
In addition, in conjunction with the official opening of the Longgang National Sports Center at the end of the month, the Transportation Bureau will draw 20 car parking spaces and 44 motorcycle parking spaces in the surrounding area, and complete surrounding road markings simultaneously, hoping to improve parking demand and traffic order.
