[Reporter Wang Rongxiang/Kaohsiung Report] The highest-level e-sports event in Taiwan’s public sector has begun. The Gao City Youth Bureau announced that the 6th National E-Sports Youth Championship will officially open for registration on September 26, with a total prize money of up to NT$600,000. Players from all over Taiwan are invited to come to Gaojie's "Dome of Light" in November to compete.

This event is co-organized by the Kaohsiung Municipal Youth Bureau and the Sports Development Bureau, and is co-organized by the Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation, the Electronic Sports Association of the Republic of China, Shute University of Science and Technology and Zhengxiu University of Science and Technology. It is supported by the official designated e-sports brands "ROG Republic of Players" and "XPG ADATA".

The youth bureau explained that the event will continue with two major events: Special Heroes and Tornado 6, with 256 teams open for each. Among them, the champion of Special Heroes will receive 200,000 yuan, and the champion of Tornado 6 will receive 80,000 yuan. As long as they complete the game, they will also receive 150 MyCard points.

Youth Director Lin Kaixuan said that the city government continues to promote the "E-sports Talent Cultivation Program", connecting learning and practical fields through multiple channels such as campus lectures, professional training, and large-scale event internships, allowing young people to have an in-depth understanding of the e-sports industry from different aspects.

Director Hou Zunyao pointed out that during the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games, e-sports has become a benchmark event for international events. Kaohsiung players Guo Yishuo, Liu Tingyi, Liu Tangzhi, Su Bincheng, Yu Junjia, Chen Yujin and other representatives are participating to show the strength and potential of young people.

Registration for this event will be officially opened at 7 pm on September 26 and will close at 7 pm on October 17. The schedule will be announced on October 20. The online event will start on October 24, and the offline event will be held at the Kaohsiung MRT Meili from November 7 to 8. The "Dome of Light" at the island station is now in full swing.
