Taiwanese skateboarding star Lin Yifan wins Asian Games silver medal, best result in history

[Special Correspondent Nian Miaoyun/Reporting from Nagoya] Taiwanese skateboarding star Lin Yifan, who is only 14 years old, won the silver medal with 85.15 points in the park style final of the Asian Games women's category in Nagoya today. This is also the first Asian Games skateboarding medal in Taiwan's history, making history.

Skateboarding has been listed as an official Asian Games event since the Jakarta Asian Games in 2018. In the last Hangzhou Asian Games, 11-year-old Lin Yifan participated in the Taiwanese delegation, and finally finished 8th in the women's park style. Over the past three years, she has continued to improve herself, including becoming a disciple of Japanese coach Sasaoka Kendo, and even went to Japan for training before the Asian Games.

Lin Yifan performed well in the preliminaries yesterday, scoring 78.53 points, ranking first in the group and second overall to win the final ticket.

The skateboarding final will be held today. Players will first perform 3 runs, and the top 5 skaters will advance to the 4th "golden round". The final ranking of the skaters will be based on the highest score in a single trip among 3 or 4 runs.

Lin Yifan performed perfectly in the first run today and scored 85.15 points. Unfortunately, she made mistakes in the second and third runs, scoring only 61.17 points and 60.23 points respectively. Fortunately, she scored well in the first run and remained in second place, giving her a chance to get the golden round.

In the practice time before the last trip, Lin Yifan continued to adjust to the previous mistakes. Unfortunately, there were still mistakes in this trip. In the end, he only scored 28.83 points. However, Lin Yifan still relied on his performance in the first trip to win the silver medal.
