On the second anniversary of President Lai Ching-te's inauguration, Democratic Progressive Party legislator Chen Peiyu posted on Facebook listing a number of policies and construction projects of the ruling party, including water resources, airports, long-term care, social welfare, AI, new top ten construction projects, and full support from 0 to 18 years old. She believes that the people of Taiwan expect a government that does practical things and takes care of everyone's lives. Instead of spending precious time and energy on political calculations and unnecessary confrontations, the DPP chooses to focus on policies that make Taiwan better. In the days to come, the ruling team will continue to move forward steadily.
Chen Peiyu pointed out that in the face of the rapidly changing domestic and international situations, the current government's top priority is still to consolidate national security and strive for people's livelihood and economy. In particular, we should promote the "transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises," because small and medium-sized enterprises are the lifeblood of Taiwan's economy and the foundation for countless families to live and work. Only by taking care of the grassroots economy can Taiwan stand firmer.
She continued that over the past two years, the Executive Yuan has continued to introduce various policies to protect national security, take care of people's livelihood, and also step by step promote the upgrading of Taiwan's overall construction. Water resources construction continues to advance, and important projects such as the Nanhua Gaoping Connecting Pipe, Tainan-Kaohsiung Unicom Pipe, Yunjia Two-way Support System, and Taoyuan Main Pipe have been completed. The remaining construction is also being continued in phases to strengthen the resilience of Taiwan's overall water supply.
In terms of transportation construction, Chen Peiyu explained that the two north-south international airports have been upgraded simultaneously, including the official opening of the north boarding gallery of the third terminal of Taoyuan International Airport; Kaohsiung International Airport is also undergoing terminal renovation projects. At the same time, the government also actively responds to local needs and continues to plan major projects in Taichung, Chiayi, Beigan and other places.
Chen Peiyu said that in terms of social care, long-term care 3.0 has been launched in advance in 2026 to promote integrated care in the community, strengthen nighttime emergency services, and expand PAC disability and dementia care to apply to all ages, while ensuring seamless integration with long-term care after discharge. services, introduce smart care technology and assistive devices, and expand the source of care manpower through diversified training; in terms of social welfare policies, promote eight major social welfare and living subsidy measures to provide all-age support from infants to the elderly, take care of the disadvantaged, and make people's lives more secure.
She mentioned that the government has also invested 100 billion yuan over four years to fully assist local counties and cities in promoting river management and water control projects, comprehensively strengthening flood prevention resilience, and protecting the safety of people's lives and property. At the same time, through the "six major regional industrial and living circles", Taiwan is promoting balanced development and creating a better industrial and living environment. Currently, more than 150 major construction projects are ongoing.
In the face of the global AI wave, Chen Peiyu said that the government has also launched the "Top Ten New AI Constructions", which has led Taiwan's AI national power ranking to jump five places, actively build a smart living circle for all people, promote smart applications in various industries, develop AI software digital industry, silicon photonics, quantum technology, AI robots and sovereign AI computing power construction, while strengthening smart government data management, cultivating 500,000 AI talents, and driving innovation and development with hundreds of billions of funds.
Chen Peiyu added that the government is also actively promoting 13 national strategic industries, including technology leadership: semiconductors, artificial intelligence, silicon photonics, quantum technology, AI robots and unmanned vehicles; economic security: military industry, security control, next-generation communications, key minerals and medical technology; prosperous domestic demand: Asian asset management center, urban renewal, cultural and creative sports and trillion-dollar tourism industry.
In terms of childcare and education policies, Chen Peiyu said that the government continues to promote "full support from birth to 18 years old", from childbirth, parenting to education, to accompany every family through increased subsidies, reduced burdens, more flexibility, and increased care.
Chen Peiyu mentioned that although the opposition parties have recently continued to use international situations such as the Trump-Xi meeting and other issues for political manipulation, they even continued to promote the presidential impeachment case on Tuesday in an attempt to create domestic confrontation and disturbance. Regarding these wars of words, the DPP's attitude is very clear, "We will not follow political maneuvers."
