In March this year, Zhou Danwei made a special trip to Murano, the famous "Island of Glass" in Venice, Italy, to learn from famous teachers. Even though she was jokingly called "madman" by a local teacher, she still works with thousands of flames every day, determined to burn ancient flame glazing that combines Eastern and Western aesthetics. At the exhibition, celebrity friends and distinguished guests from all walks of life were amazed when they saw the breathtaking works. They couldn't help but praise: "Adan, your Italian teacher is right, you are really crazy! How did these works come out? It's incredible, so beautiful."
One of the works is called "Ruize". The colorful bottle body of emerald green, orange and gold is surrounded by three sheep and turtles. It was inspired by "Three Yang Kaitai". Zhou Danwei shared: "I sought inspiration from classical culture, and then turned it into a three-dimensional, modern, fashionable and elegant work." All auspicious images such as goats, turtles, and rats are transformed into colorful three-dimensional creations. In the past, her works often attracted bidding competition from all walks of life. This time, the shape and color of "Rui Shu Full" are so stunning that it was quickly booked by collectors even before it was launched.

This exhibition brings together 12 new large-scale masterpieces, together with more than 30 classic exhibits from the past, and nearly a hundred unique and ingenious gilt glass jewelry. The large-scale works include "Lucky Butterfly", "Ruize", "Magic Blue Rose", "Extraordinary Charm", etc. The artistic conception is elegant and graceful, the colors are dazzling, and they are filled with auspicious blessings. They are like bright nebulae containing the soul, telling romantic stories and perfectly proving the crystallization of Zhou Danwei's "mad tempering" of classical culture and modern fashion.
Recalling the hardships of the creation process, Zhou Danwei was inevitably emotional. She said emotionally: "It is to make sculptures in a fire of thousands of degrees. From fishing for materials, coloring, adding gold foil, silver foil, and shaping, it is all a race against time. The glass will gradually solidify when it is cold, and if it is not handled well, it will be invalid. There are three assistants on site to work together to protect against the heat. , blowing to trimming, thank you to my fire partner." She revealed that the on-site kiln "has a high temperature of up to 1,500 degrees. On Murano Island, I sprained and injured my spine while rushing to catch the last boat with the equipment. I was in so much pain that I endured it until the work was completed before returning to Taiwan for medical treatment. I refused to have an operation and now receive extremely painful small acupuncture treatments every week."
The opening press conference coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival. Zhou Danwei said emotionally: "This is a work that I sacrificed my life for. I hope this auspicious light can be shared with all my friends." She is very popular in the circle, attracting more than 20 important old friends to show up at the scene to witness the culmination of her dedication to art and her madness to the end. Zhang Chenguang, Kou Shixun, Fang Fangfang and other friends stared at the work intently and exclaimed as soon as they arrived.
A huge lineup of star friends attended and supported, including Fang Fangfang, Wang Shujuan, Zhu Yanping, Ruan Qianzhi, Li Zhilin, Betty, He Dulin, Ji Baoru, Yao Caiying, Ban Tiexiang, Chen Meifeng, Kou Shixun, Zhang Chenguang, Yang Guimei, Yang Yan, Yang Jiemei, Xiong Hailing, Deng Meifang, Lou Manli and others, gathered to cheer Zhou Danwei.
Zhou Danwei's 2026 Ancient Flame Gilded Glass Creation Exhibition "Rui Cai Ning Guang" will be on display at Ashu International Hotel (No. 76, Section 3, Bade Road, Taipei City) from now until October 4. It is open to the public for free from 1 pm to 6 pm every day.
