Iran does not plan a new round of talks with the US in New York

The Iranian delegation does not plan to hold another round of negotiations with American representatives in New York, IRNA reports citing a source.

On Wednesday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that representatives of the country contacted the American side on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York through Qatar last Tuesday.

“There are no plans for a new round of negotiations with the American side on the agenda of Iranian representatives. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, upon completion of his planned program, will return to his homeland on Tuesday,” the agency’s source said.

At the same time, he noted that Iran is still waiting for a response from the United States to the proposals submitted to the American side.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi clarified that Tehran, through intermediaries, handed over to Washington a seven-day plan for opening the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump said he rejected the Iranian proposal.
