Farewell message from coach Montella, who parted ways with the National Football Team

Montella used the following statements in his farewell message shared on social media:

"Every good story has an end, but some journeys leave traces far beyond football. It was a great honor for me to be the coach of the Turkish National Team. Three years ago, I was appointed to manage the national team of this beautiful country. For this reason, I would like to thank the then President, Mr. Mehmet Büyükekşi and his team, who believed in me at the beginning of our journey and did not spare their trust and appreciation. I would like to thank our players wholeheartedly for their selfless struggle, effort and loyalty. After the end of my duty as coach, I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart. "The countless loving messages I received were once again proof of this strong bond between us. I would like to wholeheartedly thank my technical team and all my colleagues for their endless efforts, our President Mr. İbrahim Ethem Hacıosmanoğlu and the Turkish Football Federation for their trust in me, and above all, our fans for their unique passion and support they give us all over the world."

Stating that many things happened during his time in office, the Italian coach said, "We had unforgettable moments together, achieved historical successes, overcame difficulties and wrote a special story in the history of this country.
