Wei Wei, director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the meeting that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will use humanoid robots as a "small incision" to drive the development of the embodied intelligence industry, accelerate the application of related products and services, and inject new momentum into science and technology business.
Wei Wei introduced that embodied intelligence is the key carrier for artificial intelligence to move from the "digital world" to the "physical world" and is becoming an important starting point for cultivating new productivity. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology thoroughly implements the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, adheres to the application-driven approach, strives to strengthen the opening of scenarios, promotes technological innovation and industrial development, deepens ecological construction and open cooperation, and promotes the realization of three "accelerations" of the embodied intelligence industry represented by humanoid robots.
First, the scale and size are accelerating. In the first half of this year, my country's total humanoid robot products exceeded 400 models, with production exceeding 40,000 units, and it is expected to exceed 100,000 units throughout the year.
Second, innovation capabilities have accelerated, gathering the advantages of industry, academia and research to tackle a number of key technologies such as humanoid robots and embodied intelligent motion control, simulation, and tactile sensing, driving continuous improvement in product performance.
The third is to accelerate the implementation of industrial applications. Implement a special action for real-life training of humanoid robots and embodied intelligence, promote the accelerated verification and deployment of related products in more than 300 key scenarios such as warehousing and logistics, catering retail, and home services, and continue to improve the overall machine operating capabilities and scenario adaptation capabilities.
Wei Wei said that in the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will coordinate development and security, follow the idea of "innovation-driven, application-driven, and ecological collaboration" and use humanoid robots as a "small incision" to drive the development of the embodied intelligence industry, accelerate the application of related products and services, and inject new momentum into science and technology business.
