As there is a demand to reduce the burden of setting the table before the holiday, and in the second half of the holiday, there is a demand to find a menu that they usually enjoy instead of holiday food or to have a convenient meal on the way home, the restaurant industry is introducing related products and discount events one after another.
According to the restaurant industry on the 23rd, sales of Deli by Ashley, a deli brand operated by E-Land Eats, from the 1st to the 21st of this month increased by about 10% compared to the same period last year.
Deli by Ashley is a brand that sells popular menu items from the buffet 'Ashley Queens', focusing on products priced at 3,990 won, in a format that is easy for households of one to two people to eat.
The company said that in the third quarter of this year, the best-selling menu item until the 21st of this month was 'Signature Whole Meal Chicken', and that 'Yakbab' was added as a new menu item to celebrate Chuseok.
During the holidays, sales of menu items that are good for table setting were notable.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, February 14th to 18th, 'Neobiani Grill' ranked first in sales, and 'Mushroom Japchae' was also among the top selling menu items.
In February of this year, which includes the Lunar New Year, the highest daily sales of the month were recorded on the 7th and 14th, which were the weekends before the holiday. Overall sales in February increased by about 10% compared to October, which included Chuseok last year.
A Deli by Ashley official said, "As the number of customers who prefer reasonable consumption and less effort ahead of the holidays increases, the demand for supermarket deli corners is increasing," adding, "We are operating by adding some menus flexibly to meet customer demand depending on the season."
In the latter half of the holiday season, an increasing number of consumers are looking for burgers that can be enjoyed easily instead of holiday food.
As a result of Shinsegae Food's analysis of No Brand Burger's holiday sales, daily sales at stores nationwide on the last day of this year's Lunar New Year holiday increased by 20% compared to the average for the week.
Sales on the last day of last year's Chuseok holiday were also 11% higher than the average for that week.
In particular, during Chuseok last year, there was a large increase in sales at rest areas and terminal stores where visitors flocked.
At that time, sales at 11 rest areas and terminals nationwide operated by No Brand Burger increased by 150% compared to normal times. Rest area stores increased by 260% and terminal stores increased by 130%, and the number of visitors increased by 150% during the same period.
Shinsegae Food is targeting such demand by holding a 'Chuseok Special Promotion' at G Market until the 27th, offering up to 21% off the regular price of No Brand Burger mobile coupons and 15% off some set menus.
The business hours of No Brand Burger Express Terminal branch and East Seoul Terminal branch will also be extended on the 23rd and 24th for customers returning home early. The Express Terminal branch is open from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. the next day, and the East Seoul Terminal branch is open from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Other chicken and burger brands are also introducing set menus and discount events targeting the Chuseok holiday.
Burger King will provide six types of special Chuseok coupon packs that provide up to 36% discount to official app members from this day to the 27th. We have also created menus tailored to the number of users and meal needs, such as the 'Family Chuseok Pack' and 'Family Assorted Pack' for family customers.
KFC will be selling limited edition โPungseong Hangawi Single Packโ for one person and โPungseong Hangawi Double Packโ for two people until the 28th. Burgers, chicken, side dishes, etc. are bundled and sold at a discount of approximately 18% from the regular price.
