Signature campaign in the USA to prevent Israel supporter Jeffries from being elected Speaker of the House of Representatives

More than 817 thousand people have signed the online petition opposing the election of Hakeem Jeffries, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives of the Democrats in the USA, as the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the new era when the Democrats will be in the majority.

An online petition was launched on "Change.org" on September 3 under the title "House Democrats, Elect a New President."

In the campaign, the newly elected Democratic members of the House of Representatives were asked not to vote for Jeffries if he is a candidate for the new Speaker of the House of Representatives to be elected in January 2027.

More than 817 thousand people have signed the petition so far to prevent Jeffries, who is known for his support for Israel, from being elected Speaker of the House of Representatives.

With the Democrats gaining the majority in the House of Representatives as a result of the midterm elections in the USA, the Speaker of the House of Representatives will be a Democrat in the new term that will start in January 2027.

In this context, Jeffries is expected to be elected as the country's new Speaker of the House of Representatives.
