Opposition Assassination Plan of Russian Intelligence Blocked in the USA

The US Department of Justice announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) foiled an assassination plot by a network linked to Russian intelligence services against a prominent Russian dissident thought to be living in Washington.

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that an indictment was prepared against 5 people who were allegedly acting on behalf of Russian intelligence, on the grounds that they conspired to organize attacks and targeted assassinations in the USA and other countries.

The indictment stated that the network affiliated with Russian intelligence services has been targeting Russian dissidents and fugitives since at least 2024, and has recently tried to carry out attacks on countries seen as Ukraine's allies.

According to the indictment, this summer the Russian intelligence network recruited a person living in the United States to track and kill a Russian dissident believed to be in Washington.

This person was sent two addresses that were said to be linked to the opposition and was asked to take photos and videos for tracking purposes.

A payment of 1000 to 1500 dollars was offered for this work.

The person in the USA did not accept the 40 thousand dollars offered to kill the oppositionist after carrying out the follow-up activity and sending various photos and videos.

Among those accused are former colonel Yuri Khrameev, who served in Russian intelligence services, his son Kirill Khrameev, an officer of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), and Oemis Romagoza Durruthy, a Cuban citizen living in Russia.
