One of the events that triggered these discussions was that Jacob Coxon, who worked as a researcher at US artificial intelligence companies OpenAI and Anthropic, resigned from Anthropic on September 9, arguing that neither company acted responsibly enough regarding artificial intelligence.
Claiming that companies are in an uncontrolled race for self-improving artificial intelligence systems, Coxon argued that these systems could turn into superhuman systems that can "hack everything" in the near future.
Coxon also claimed that some industry workers developing artificial intelligence models seriously believe that these systems could "kill humanity" within 10 years.
Amodei's proposal to slow down AI development
Anthropic's CEO, Dario Amodei, published an article on the company's website on September 12, stating that artificial intelligence carries risks such as loss of control and misuse for cyber attacks and bioterrorism.
Pointing out that the artificial intelligence industry has started to progress much faster in recent months, Amodei called on companies to slow down the pace of development of artificial intelligence models.
Amodei said, "We must slow down the pace at which we develop the capabilities of artificial intelligence models. Progress may still seem rapid, but we must be careful to use the time we have gained more wisely." he said.

Leading names in the technology industry, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, supported Amodei.

Asked whether the artificial intelligence development process should be slowed down, Huang said, "We should move forward as fast as we can without taking others into account." he replied.
Regarding the assessments of some artificial intelligence researchers that technology may bring the end of humanity by 2030, Huang said, "2030 will not be the end of the world. The probability of this being the end of the world is 0 percent." he said.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in his post on the social media account of US-based company X, argued that artificial intelligence companies have sufficient responsibility and incentive to develop their models safely.

Trump claimed that "a sick conspiracy is being carried out" against artificial intelligence and data centers, and argued that "the only party that is happy about this is China."
Claiming that his country is ahead of China and all other competitors in the field of artificial intelligence, Trump stated that the state that is ahead in this field will win.
