Sexual abuse of a twelve-year-old in Turin: arrest confirmed for the twenty-year-old

The 20-year-old accused of forcing a 12-year-old boy to suffer sexual abuse after convincing him to go with him to the Arrivore park remains in prison in Turin. The investigating judge of the court validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure, highlighting the seriousness of the episode and recognizing the danger of escape and the risk of repetition of similar crimes.

In the meantime, the police and prosecutor's office continue to investigate the "punitive expedition" that was allegedly carried out by friends and acquaintances of the twelve-year-old's family against the suspect. The episode occurred the day after the alleged sexual assault (19 September) in a public place in the San Salvario district. The twenty-year-old was injured in both thighs by a stab weapon. According to what has been leaked, the role played by the twelve-year-old's grandfather, who contacted 112 saying he had "found the rapist", needs to be clarified. In the meantime, however, there had already been a general stampede and the officers, upon their arrival, did not notice anyone. The following day, despite being required to sign (for another reason), the twenty-year-old did not show up at the police station. He was then tracked down on September 21st while walking in the San Salvario neighborhood. At the validation hearing the defense lawyer, Stefania Giordano, underlined that he was listened to by the officers in his absence: In fact it appears that he made spontaneous statements. The arrest order was only issued in the evening.
