The islands vice president election will be held again today

Following the resignation of Adalar Deputy Mayor Medine Pamuk, the municipal council reconvened today at 10:00 to determine the new deputy mayor. While the AK Party's candidate was Kemal Türkyılmaz in the election, which could not be held on September 21 due to the non-participation of CHP council members, the CHP is expected to determine its candidate today.

Following the resignation of Adalar Deputy Mayor Medine Pamuk due to health problems, the municipal council reconvened today at 10:00 to elect a new deputy mayor.

According to the news in DHA; Prince Islands Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat was arrested on June 23 on allegations of "establishing an organization to commit a crime" and "taking bribes" within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

After Akpolat was suspended from office by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Medine Pamuk was elected as deputy mayor in the elections held in the Islands Municipal Council on June 27. Pamuk, who served for a while, resigned from his position on September 14 due to health problems.

It was announced by the Istanbul Governorship that the new vice president election will be held on September 21 at 09:00. Since CHP council members did not participate in the deputy chairman election held the previous day, an absolute majority could not be achieved.

Thereupon, the election was postponed to 10:00 today. While the AK Party group nominated Kemal Türkyılmaz, CHP's candidate was Aytül Ekşiyan.

The first round of the vice president election has been completed. In the round in which 9 council members voted, AK Party's candidate Kemal Türkyılmaz received 5 votes, and CHP's candidate Aytül Ekşiyan received 4 votes.

Since the deputy chairman could not be determined, the second round of voting started.
