Statement on Alimony Regulation from the Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek attended the Judicial Year Opening Program of Ankara Bar Association No. 2 and made important statements about the agenda. Minister Gürlek drew attention to important issues regarding Terror-Free Türkiye, the home front and the judicial system.

In his speech, Minister Gürlek said, "We plan to implement the necessary legal regulations regarding indefinite alimony within the scope of the package in October." he said.

The prominent statements of the Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek are as follows:

We are getting rid of the scourge of terrorism. We will achieve the goal of the terror-free Türkiye state project. I wish all our lawyers who contribute with their knowledge, experience and efforts to the uninterrupted execution of justice services, ease and success in their work. Now, I would like to have heartfelt conversations and share my sincere feelings with you, not as a minister, but as a guest lawyer friend of yours in your home. Our country has gone through very difficult times. Unfortunately, we have seen that during the junta and coup periods, the law and the judiciary were operated against our nation, that structures such as FETO targeted our national security with the support of international power groups, and tried to turn our legal institutions into tools of processes aimed at restricting our rights and freedoms.

WE HAVE REBUILT THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM

We can say that we have rebuilt our judicial system, which suffered an earthquake at the hands of FETO. As in everything else in our country, we have completed an independent and service-oriented structure in the judiciary with our rich resources. We managed to operate the wheels in the most effective and efficient way. As you know, these valuable institutions, which were supposed to serve our nation throughout the historical process, were intended to be turned into tools of junta, coup, tutelary mentalities and the corrupt elements of international power centers.

With the foresight of our nation, the determination of the state mind and the strong reflexes of our political institution, we managed to get out of these bottlenecks and turbulences resulting from this project, with God's permission. May God never show this nation such days again.

“CONFIDENCE IN INTERNATIONAL LAW HAS BEEN SHAKEN”

Dear friends, we are all members of a great justice family who undertake different responsibilities. Like the wheels of a clock, the efforts of our judges, public prosecutors, lawyers and all employees of our justice organization complement each other.

Because our goal is to build together an order in which rights are delivered to their owners on time and our citizens live in legal security. For this reason, our door is open to any constructive, applicable and solution-oriented proposals to be submitted to our ministry. As long as we have law at the center of our words, justice at the center of our purpose, and the interest of our nation at the center of our work. Dear lawyer colleagues, the world legal order is going through a historical test today. The double standards exhibited by most western countries, which always talk about human rights, the rule of law and human dignity, in the face of serious grievances, have seriously shaken the trust in international law.

“TURKISH NATION, JUSTICE AND LAW WILL BE THERE WHERE WHO NEEDS IT”

I say clearly that this is one of the important duties that the Turkish nation has inherited from its history and the noble responsibilities it has experienced. The Turkish nation will continue to provide justice and law wherever it is needed. Dear participants, the picture we are faced with once again reveals the importance of a consistent and independent stance in the justice center. With its political stability, developing economy, will for national unity and brotherhood, deep-rooted state tradition and strong legal system, Türkiye will continue to be the hope of those seeking justice in the region and the world.

"WE SEE POPULAR PERSONALITY POISONING OUR YOUTH"

No person can be exempt from the sanction of the law. Justice is the lifeline that everyone needs. No one can see themselves in a privileged or privileged position. Social conscience will never interfere with this, and the Turkish judiciary will continue to perform its duty uncompromisingly on this issue. The peace and security of our citizens is our top priority. Their conscience is the most accurate scale that reflects our reality. With this understanding, as we have witnessed recently, we have seen that popular personalities, who should be examples for our society, damage our national and moral values, lead lifestyles that encourage lawlessness, and poison our youth and younger generations. We resolved these problems by taking the necessary legal action.

Every person and institution that paves the way for cultural and moral collapse is among our primary targets, which we closely observe and take precautions against. Likewise, we have taken steps to protect the rule of law and the rights of our nation against anyone who abuses the social solidarity projects carried out by our people in good faith.

In addition, we hope to implement measures to prevent the prolongation of divorce cases and the legal regulations needed regarding indefinite alimony after the Constitutional Court's annulment decision, in the package in October.
