Retired sergeant committed suicide after shooting his wife and son in Adana Ceyhan

A retired specialist sergeant in Adana's Ceyhan district committed suicide after shooting his estranged wife and then his son with a gun. The couple lost their lives and their son was seriously injured.

The incident took place in an apartment building on Seyit Ahmet Arvasi Boulevard in Namık Kemal District of the district. Allegedly, the couple Kezban Kabukçu (52), a housewife with two children, and retired specialist sergeant Enis Demir (49), living in Marmaris district of Muğla, divorced 1 and a half months ago. After Kezban Kabukçu divorced her husband, she came to her sister N.K., who lived in Ceyhan district of Adana. In the evening, Enis Demir came to his ex-sister-in-law's house and said that he wanted to make peace with his wife. However, at this time, an argument broke out between the couple and Enis Demir, with his service gun next to him, first shot his wife Kezban and then his son, 13-year-old Y.E. He shot Demir. Later, Enis Demir committed suicide with the same gun.

Kezban Kabukçu's sister N.K. and neighbors who heard the gunshot reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon notice, many health and police teams were dispatched to the region. In their examination, medical teams determined that Kezban Kabukçu and Enis Demir lost their lives, while Y.E. was injured in his abdomen and arm. He was taken to Ceyhan State Hospital. It was learned that Y.E.'s condition was serious.

While the dead bodies of Enis Demir and Kezban Kabukçu were taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue for autopsy, the investigation into the incident continues.
