The man who murdered 8 people in Afyonkarahisar was caught: Footage of the moment of the attack emerged

Sevgi Postalcı, a mother of three children, who came in front of her house in Uydukent district after completing her procedures at the hairdresser in Osman Gazi District of Afyonkarahisar city center, was attacked with an gun while she got into her car to pick up her child from school at around 15.30.

The attacker, who escaped from the scene, shot with a shotgun at Science teacher Ayşe Sena Demir (46) and Religious Culture and Ethics teacher Hilal Mete (31), who were working at İhsaniye Yukarıtandır Secondary School, in a car in Yukarıtandır village. Hilal Mete died at the scene, and Ayşe Sena Demir died in the hospital where she was taken.

The attacker, who escaped from the scene with the hijacked red light commercial vehicle, then shot and killed Ahmet Uzel (57), Bekir Toprak (50) and Noman Toprak (56), who were in the vehicle with plate number 40 ND 574, in Ayazini village of the district, with a shotgun. The attacker, who came to Kıyır village by car, shot and killed Seydi Ahmet Aydoğmuş (73) and Satı Aydoğmuş (68) in the car with plate number 03 AGV 654.

Meanwhile, the body of İsmail Şen (61) was found approximately 1 kilometer away. After the incident, the suspect stole the vehicle with plate number 54 ACC 723 and fled to Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir. Upon being notified of the situation, the police took action and started an operation to catch the attacker.

The moments when the attacker emerged from his vehicle with a shotgun were captured on security camera footage. The suspect, who appeared to come out of the red light commercial vehicle with a shotgun in his hand, was seen walking for a while, then came back to the vehicle, opened the other door, took a bucket in his hand and walked away.

IT WAS STOPPED BY SHOOTING AT THE VEHICLE'S TIRES

In the studies carried out, it was determined that the attacker was Arif Sefa Özdemir. The vehicle that Özdemir had stolen was found stuck in the mud in the rural Taşlık District of Eskişehir's Seyitgazi district. It was determined that the armed attacker abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, this time stealing the car with plate number 26 NZ 187 of a person selling milk in Taşlık District. Özdemir, who wanted to escape by going to the main road, came to the enforcement point set up by the police and gendarmerie teams, who took action upon the notice that the vehicle was stolen. Here, the teams stopped the car by shooting its tires. Özdemir, who responded by shooting at the teams, was then caught and detained. Many cartridges were seized on the suspect and in the vehicle.

Arif Sefa Özdemir, who killed 8 people with a pump-action shotgun in İhsaniye district of Afyonkarahisar, was brought to Yunus Emre State Hospital in Eskişehir after the initial procedures at Odunpazarı District Gendarmerie Command. Suspect Özdemir was taken in from the emergency room and underwent a health check. It was stated that the armed attacker Özdemir was handed over to Afyonkarahisar teams after the procedures.
