After Özdemir's arrest, the combine harvester was found in Tekeli Atatürk District of Menderes district. The statements of Tekeli Atatürk District Headman Osman Kavlagan attracted particular attention.

Stating that the villagers collected help for Özdemir's burning combine harvester, Kavlagan said, "We collected nearly 50 thousand liras for him. Tradesmen, tire sellers, oilers, parts dealers and diesel sellers helped us. We also helped. Then he left."

The headman said that the attacker, Özdemir, came again after a while and told that he had bought a combine harvester. "He said, 'I was hit by him too.' I said, 'Be careful with yourself, don't get into anything like that.' He said, 'Brother, there is nothing to do.' There was a nine-minute conversation between us." he said.
