Domestic large amphibious aircraft AG600 completes northern Xinjiang garrison mission

The reporter learned from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China today (5th) that recently, the domestically produced large-scale amphibious aircraft AG600 "Kunlong" successfully completed the 2026 Gagdaqi Northern Xinjiang garrison mission, successfully completing the four-month aviation emergency duty and fire prevention actual combat mission in the forest area.

During four months of non-stop field operations, the AG600 carried out a total of 35 forest patrol missions, with a safe flight time of 100 hours and a total water input of about 390 tons, effectively curbing the risk of forest fire spread. By participating in actual forest fire drills in the Daxinganling primeval forest area, relying on the advantages of low-altitude, low-speed, large water-carrying capacity, and strong maneuverability equipment, they completed high-intensity fire-fighting tasks such as ground-to-air coordination and cluster attack on crown fires, and comprehensively tested the emergency dispatch and actual fire-fighting capabilities of domestic large-scale aviation emergency rescue equipment in the complex forest environment of northern Xinjiang.

The AG600 "Kunlong" aircraft is a large special-purpose aircraft independently developed by my country to meet the urgent needs of forest fire fighting and water rescue. It is also the world's largest civilian amphibious aircraft with the largest take-off weight. Next, AG600 aircraft will be on duty on a regular basis, creating a new model for fire prevention and extinguishing in forest areas.
