Agnès Evren denounces the management of extracurriculars in Paris

“One in three nursery schools is affected in Paris,” said Agnès Evren at the microphone of Victoire Sikora, in the program Bienvenue en Île-de-France on Le Figaro TV. The rapporteur of the committee in the Senate on extracurricular activities was keen to recall the abnormally high volume of scandals: 235 criminal investigations were opened in the capital.

Agnès Evren points out the inertia of Paris town hall and communication which has replaced action. “Parents can no longer stand this institutional wall of silence,” she emphasizes. Senator LR also deplored Anne Hidalgo's inability to make her mea culpa: "She cannot constantly pass the buck to the administration, we must stop diluting responsibility!"

The former mayor of Paris in fact spoke yesterday of a “collective failure”, but did not apologize to the victims and their families. All questions of recruitment, reporting and control and training are entirely within the competence of Paris town hall.

Breaking the omerta

“This commission of inquiry must break the silence!” declared Agnès Evren, who affirms that the hearings made it possible to shed light on responsibilities and provide more transparency to families. This commission will also be responsible for mapping all the violence and dysfunction in extracurriculars on a national scale.
