[Reporter Lin Yiru/Report from Taipei] Silicon wafer fab Hechip (6182) announced that it will spend heavily to expand production and rush for business opportunities in AI and silicon photonics applications. Today (17th), the stock price opened lower and moved higher, hitting the upper limit of 122.5 yuan during the session. As of 10:37 am, it was still locked at the daily limit, with a trading volume of 78,000 contracts, and the number of daily limit orders to buy exceeded 10,000.

Hejing's board of directors decided last Friday (14th) that in order to enhance the company's competitiveness and future operational development needs, it will invest no more than NT$15.95 billion to purchase factory facilities and machinery and equipment, using its own funds, bank loans or external fundraising. In recent years, Hechip has been actively pursuing the field of AI. Silicon photonics applications have been introduced to customers, and silicon carbide materials have also entered the field of advanced packaging and heat dissipation. It has simultaneously expanded production capacity in Zhunan, Erlin, and Zhengzhou, China.

Judging from the trends of the three major legal persons, foreign investors sold more than 11,000 contracts last Friday, self-operators also sold more than 653 contracts, investors bought more than 515 contracts, and the three major legal persons sold more than 11,890 contracts in total.
