[Reporter Chen Meiying/Taipei Report] AU Optronics (2409) continues to promote transformation and today (1st) announced organizational adjustments and high-level personnel layout. In addition to re-integrating the three strategic operational pillars of "display technology", "smart mobility" and "vertical fields", it also formally established an "Innovation Research Institute" to integrate the group's AI and forward-looking technology research and development resources, hoping to accelerate technology commercialization and further move towards a solution provider with display technology as its core.
AUO stated that this organizational adjustment is mainly to strengthen the division of labor and synergy between the three major business pillars, and to connect basic R&D and new business layout through the Innovation Research Institute to establish a complete innovation system from technology R&D, industry-university cooperation, customer development to supply chain integration, laying the foundation for the company's long-term growth.

In terms of personnel layout, Chen Jianbin serves as the general manager of the display technology business, responsible for the research and development, production, marketing and supply chain management of products such as television, information, mobile devices and system solutions; the smart mobile business is led by Xu Wenhao, chairman and general manager of subsidiary AUO Smart Mobile Led by doctors, the company develops smart cockpit solutions with the three core technologies of display, human-machine interface, vehicle computing and smart car connectivity. The vertical field business continues to be led by Wu Yifang, chairman and general manager of Daqing, to expand application markets such as smart retail, medical care, education and enterprises.
The newly established Innovation Research Institute is headed by Dr. Liao Weilun, Chief Technology Officer of AUO, who concurrently serves as the dean. It is responsible for the group's forward-looking technology research and development strategy. In addition to continuing to promote the development of Micro LED technology, it will also integrate R&D teams such as CPO optical communications, AR glasses and low-orbit satellite communication antennas, and connect the R&D resources of the three major business pillars in series to accelerate the implementation of innovative technologies and product commercialization.
