A reporter asked: According to media reports, the US Embassy in Panama recently held an internal media briefing to introduce the construction of the world's first artificial intelligence supply chain certification and traceability platform pilot project in Panama, revealing that the project has entered the evaluation stage. Media commented that the project will certify the origin, transportation route and compliance status of goods such as semiconductors, critical minerals, and artificial intelligence infrastructure products. In essence, it serves the United States to control the technology supply chain and contain China’s technology. What is China’s comment on this?

Guo Jiakun: China has noted the relevant reports. Artificial intelligence is related to the common welfare of all mankind, and all parties should adhere to the principles of openness, inclusiveness, universal benefit, and goodwill. Setting up closed and exclusive "small circles" and engaging in geopolitical calculations is not conducive to technological development and progress in the global South, including Latin American and Caribbean countries. China is willing to work with Latin American and Caribbean countries and other parties to build a fair and reasonable global governance system for artificial intelligence and promote artificial intelligence to benefit people of all countries.
