Kaohsiung City Education Bureau promotes AI collaborative question review system to enhance teachers' question-proposing expertise

In order to improve teachers' professional setting and examination, the Kaohsiung City Education Bureau combines educational theory and the application of AI technology to promote the "AI collaborative examination system". A press conference was held today (17th) at Zuoying Elementary School in Kaohsiung City to showcase the innovative results of Kaohsiung City's use of AI technology to assist teachers in improving assessment design.

Kaohsiung City Education Director Wu Lisen said that with the rapid development of digital technology, "technological foresight" has become the focus of Kaohsiung City's education development. In the future, based on the "AI Collaborative Question Review System", the "AI Collaborative Question Review Quality Improvement Plan" will continue to be promoted. Starting from the elementary school level, a professional support mechanism for teachers' AI collaborative question review will be gradually constructed to improve the quality of Kaohsiung's education assessment and student learning outcomes.

Liu Zhenning, a professor at Kaohsiung Normal University, is a key figure in the development of the system. He pointed out that in order to understand the actual learning situation of students, "What can be tested in the test paper?" is the key question. To accurately assess students' abilities, the quality of the propositions is very important. The question review system is based on rigorous test and evaluation theory, uses the curriculum syllabus as the assessment content, and is supplemented by the insights of educational practitioners on the preparation of question types.

In addition, the examination papers compiled by primary school principal courses and school teachers led by principals in the instructional leadership professional community serve as the basis for analysis and become the index database of the question review system. After analysis, the system can produce an effective evaluation report, from the most basic distribution check to the correspondence of cognitive process dimensions, and further make suggestions for correction and adjustment, giving teachers immediate and professional review results.

Lin Yizhe, the founder of the system instructions and the principal of Fu'an Elementary School in Kaohsiung City, has served in rural areas for many years. He said that rural elementary schools are short of manpower, and the fast computing power of AI technology can reduce the burden of regular assessment and review tasks on each school's academic affairs office, and will be a good helper for on-site teachers.
