Delta participated in Energy Taiwan 2026. Brand President Guo Shanshan (second from right), Vice President and General Manager of Energy Infrastructure Business Group Zhao Huachun (second from left), Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Energy Infrastructure Business Group Li Yanting (first from left), and General Manager of Hydrogen Energy Application New Business Development Department Cai Wenyin are optimistic about the future prospects.
Delta Electronics (2308), a major power supply manufacturer, will host the 2026 Taiwan International Smart Energy Week today and release its prefabricated solid-state transformer (SST) DC power solution to target the power supply needs of AI factories and data centers. It will also simultaneously display solid-state oxide fuel cells (SOFC). It is expected to trial mass production by the end of this year and expand its presence in the AI energy infrastructure market.
Zhao Huachun, general manager of Delta's energy infrastructure business group, said that the rapid expansion of AI computing power is redefining the needs of enterprises for energy infrastructure. Microgrids can coordinate the power grid, independent power generation, energy storage and loads to instantly match energy supply with electricity demand. For the new generation power supply architecture, Delta has launched prefabricated SST DC power solutions and SOFC to help sites improve energy resilience and achieve energy independence.
Delta pointed out that the prefabricated SST DC power solution launched this time is specially designed for AI factories and data centers. It integrates SST with an energy conversion efficiency of 98.5%, DC-to-DC converter and control system, reducing the power conversion link in the power supply structure, improving overall energy usage efficiency, and supporting the flexible expansion of AI infrastructure.
In response to the rapid changes in AI computing loads, Delta said that this solution can be equipped with high-rate backup batteries according to site requirements, providing millisecond-level power support to maintain load-side power supply efficiency and stability. In addition, through factory pre-integration and modular design, on-site wiring, construction and system calibration work can be reduced, on-site deployment time can be shortened by 50%, and customers can accelerate the introduction of AI infrastructure.
In terms of its independent power generation layout, Delta Electronics simultaneously exhibited SOFC, which generates electricity through electrochemical reactions and combines it with heat recovery technology to achieve an overall power generation and heat energy utilization efficiency of up to 85%. It is expected to be put into trial mass production by the end of this year. SOFC can be integrated with existing power grids, energy storage systems and other energy equipment to reduce the site's dependence on a single power source and enhance the power supply resilience of AI data centers, manufacturing plants and critical infrastructure that operate 24 hours a day.
Delta Electric further pointed out that it has recently joined hands with Greater Taipei Gas to build the first Taiwan-made 550kW SOFC project site to promote local independent power generation applications. The theme of this exhibition is "Resilient Energy, Driving the Future of AI". Microgrids integrate power grids, independent power generation, energy storage and smart dispatch to help companies cope with the power demands brought about by AI computing and smart manufacturing.

China’s State Administration for Market Regulation announced on the 14th that China has approved the release of more than 600 national standards for clean energy such as hydropower, photovoltaic, solar thermal, and hydrogen energy. On the day of the 57th World Standards Day, the four departments jointly held a theme event in Beijing to showcase China's achievements in the field of clean energy standardization and the progress of international cooperation.

The bidding situation for offshore wind power phase 3-3 is not as active as before, with only 2 developers bidding. The wind power industry estimates that Channel I may be opened as a developable sea area in Phase 3-4, becoming a new battlefield. Developers such as WoXu Energy and CIP have actively prepared potential wind farm plans and are ready to go.

In response to CIP's accusation that Taiwan's offshore wind power policy has failed, the Energy Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs today expressed confusion and regret, emphasizing that Taiwan has completed 5GW of installed capacity and ranks fifth in the world. The opinions of specific industry players should not negate the achievements of our country's promotion.

In response to CIP Managing Director Xu Naiwen's criticism of Taiwan's three consecutive failures in offshore wind power block development, the Energy Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs today expressed confusion and regret, emphasizing that Taiwan has completed 5GW of installed capacity and will rank fifth in the world in 2025, and will continue to improve the development environment.
On October 14, Sinopec Shengli Oilfield released the "Ten Significant Results of Implementing Duanlao Energy Rice Bowl" in Dongying, Shandong Province. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, 4 new oil fields were discovered, with a cumulative production of 117.55 million tons of crude oil, and major breakthroughs were made in the fields of shale oil, CCUS and new energy integration.

Taipower Chairman Tsang Wensheng said in a keynote speech that Taiwan's peak load annual growth rate will reach 2.7% in the next ten years, and the electricity consumption of the semiconductor industry will double in ten years. With the popularization of AI and computer use, the night peak may be postponed from 5 or 6 pm to 8 or 9 pm. Power grid configuration becomes critical.
