Air Show Radom will not take place in 2027. The Ministry of National Defense confirms the decision

A few days ago, the Ministry of Defense indicated that the lack of plans to organize the event in 2027 is due to the changing geopolitical situation and the war in Ukraine, and the priority of the Air Force is operational tasks and training. In response to these reports, the city authorities announced that they hoped that the decision of the Ministry of National Defense would be changed and that they were ready for talks.

The Air Show will not take place due to operational reasons

On Monday, the press office of the Mayor of Radom announced that in an official letter sent by the Ministry of National Defense to the city authorities, Deputy Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka confirmed that the International Air Show Radom will not take place in 2027.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Defense was to explain in a letter to the Radom authorities that the decision not to organize next year's shows is due to operational reasons.

The Radom authorities comment

In the opinion of the Radom authorities, canceling this event is a big loss for the region and aviation fans. This is disappointing news for Radom and all aviation enthusiasts. The Air Show is a unique event awaited by thousands of people from Poland and abroad. However, this is the decision of the military, i.e. the main organizer of the shows, said the president of Radom, Radosław Witkowski.

The president's office indicated that, in the opinion of the Ministry of National Defense, the Radom Air Show is an important event for the promotion of the Polish Armed Forces, with an educational and patriotic dimension. Deputy Minister Sobkowiak-Czarnecka expressed hope that in the near future the international situation and preventive measures introduced after the crashes of Polish Air Force planes will allow the organization of safe, high-level shows.

When conditions allow

The mayor of the city noted that he was very much counting on it. From the very beginning, I have declared and still declare Radom's full readiness to cooperate in organizing the Air Show. We will remain in contact with the Ministry of National Defense and strive to ensure that Radom continues to be the venue for the largest air shows in Poland. We want the Air Show to return to our city as soon as conditions allow, said Witkowski.
