GÜRLEK: HE LEFT DEEP MARKS

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made a statement on his virtual media account regarding the 46th anniversary of the September 12 military coup. Minister Gürlek said, "With the coup of September 12, 1980, which is one of the dark spots in our history of democracy, military tutelage usurped the will of our nation and left deep traces in the political, social and legal life of our country by interrupting civilian politics.

September 12 maintains its place in memories as one of the most severe examples in our history of democracy of the understanding that tries to establish tutelage over the national will. Therefore, one of the most important elements of our 'Turkey Century' goals is to completely leave behind the 1982 Constitution, which institutionalized the tutelage mentality and bore the traces of the coup period, and to give Turkey a civilian constitution.
