Akın Gürlek announced... 150 detentions in 3 separate investigations: Suspicious transaction volume of 21 billion 319 million TL!

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that three separate operations were carried out against illegal betting activities and structures described as "new generation criminal organizations", centered in Ankara, Istanbul and Edirne.

According to Gürlek's statement on his social media account, the financial movements of illegal betting networks, company connections, crypto asset transfers and criminal networks established through social media were examined during the operations.

OPERATIONS IN 18 PROVINCES IN ANKARA

Within the scope of the illegal betting investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was carried out against 79 suspects and 23 companies in 18 provinces based in Ankara.

According to Gürlek's statement, the investigation examined the structures alleged to provide software and call center services for illegal betting activities, as well as money movements related to the transfer of crime proceeds through companies and crypto assets.

It was reported that 55 people were detained within the scope of the operation, and efforts are continuing to capture 24 people.

Within the scope of the investigation, trustees were appointed to 23 companies.

DETERMINATION OF 21.3 BILLION TL FROM MASAK

Remarkable data was also shared regarding the financial dimension of the investigation in Ankara.

Gürlek announced that the suspicious transaction volume was determined to be 21 billion 319 million TL in the MASAK report.

It was stated that the connection of these money movements with illegal betting activities was examined within the scope of the investigation.

OPERATIONS IN 30 PROVINCES HEALED IN ISTANBUL

In another investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the allegation that people reached via social media were directed to commit criminal acts through messaging groups is being investigated.

In this context, an operation was organized against a total of 100 people, 34 of whom were children in the judicial process, in 30 provinces centered in Istanbul.

During the operation, 87 people were detained, 31 of whom were children in judicial process. It was announced that efforts are continuing to capture 13 people against whom legal action has been taken.

TRANSACTION VOLUME OF 1 BILLION TL IN EDİRNE

In the illegal betting investigation carried out by the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, money movements in bank accounts were examined.

According to Gürlek's statement, a total transaction volume of 1 billion TL was detected in the bank accounts of the suspects in the last month alone.

Eight suspects were detained in the operation carried out against 12 people in five provinces centered in Edirne. It was reported that efforts to capture four people continue.

GÜRLEK: “WE WILL DRY THEIR ECONOMIC RESOURCES”

In his statement, Gürlek stated that the fight against criminal organizations and illegal betting networks will continue and said, "We will dry up the economic resources of criminal organizations, narrow their areas of activity and continue our fight uncompromisingly."

Thanking the chief prosecutors' offices and law enforcement units that carried out the operations, Gürlek stated that investigations against illegal betting networks and criminal organizations will continue.
