Rain and north wind warning from AKOM for Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs and Risk Management Department AKOM announced that Istanbul and the Marmara Region in general are under the influence of the cool and rainy weather coming from the Balkans. It is estimated that local rainfall on Saturday will intensify as of 18:00 on Sunday and continue as heavy showers throughout the week. As the north-eastern wind reaches a speed of 30-60 km per hour, temperatures are expected to drop to 15-18 degrees, below seasonal norms.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Affairs and Risk Management Department AKOM shared its current meteorological assessment of the expected adverse weather conditions throughout the city.

COOL AND RAINY SYSTEM IN MARMARA

According to the news in ANKA and the latest investigations, the entire Marmara Region, especially Istanbul, is under the influence of a new wave of cool and rainy weather coming from the Balkans.

RAIN WILL BE EFFECTIVE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK

Rainfall is expected to gradually increase from the weekend and be effective throughout the city throughout the next week.

IT WILL GET INTENSE FROM 18.00 ON SUNDAY

According to AKOM's predictions, the rains that will be seen as local transitions on Saturday will increase their effect as of 18.00 on Sunday. It is stated that the rainy weather that will spread throughout the province will continue in the form of intermittent showers and occasionally heavy showers throughout the next week.

TEMPERATURE DROPS BY 4-6 DEGREES

The wind is expected to get stronger from the northerly directions (northern winds) starting from Saturday noon and reach speeds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour.

With the strong northerly wind blowing, it is predicted that the air temperatures, which are currently in the range of 22-24 degrees, will drop to around 15-18 degrees and fall below the seasonal norms.
