Today, after 4:00 a.m., the Operational Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces informed about the operation of military aviation in Polish airspace in connection with the activity of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Russian Federation carrying out strikes on the territory of Ukraine.

Before 10:00 the Command announced the end of fighter operations. It also emphasized that no violation of the Polish airspace was recorded.

In an interview with the Polish Press Agency, DORSZ spokesman, Lt. Col. Jacek Goryszewski, was asked how close the potential threat was to the Polish border. Lt. Col. Goryszewski pointed out that some of the unmanned aerial vehicles "operated, and some even hit, targets located very close to the border - even several or a dozen kilometers from our borders." He emphasized that the threat was "real and imminent" at that time.

According to information from RMF FM, the police received signals regarding the alleged explosion in the Lublin region from the morning. The services went to two towns. The search for the sources of disturbing noises continued in Szczecin in Kraśnik County and in Stojeszyn PRZE in Janów County. However, nothing was found.

When asked about the residents' reports about the noise, the DORSZ spokesman emphasized that the Command assumed that it resulted from the sound barrier being broken by the picked up fighter jets. As he pointed out, for this purpose, among other things, DORSZ sends messages about aviation operations, which increase the possibility of increased noise.

Sirens sounded in six counties

While the aircraft was operating, the Government Security Center sent alerts informing about the threat to residents of the Lublin region and Podkarpacie.

Another RCB alert warned residents of six counties in the Lublin Voivodeship for several dozen minutes about the threat of an air attack. Emergency sirens sounded in these counties.
