Alfa Romeo presents the Luna Rossa special edition for the entire range on the occasion of the Preliminary Regatta in Naples

On the occasion of the America's Cup Preliminary Regatta in Naples, Il Biscione unveiled a preview of the new special series dedicated to all models in the range and born from the collaboration with the Italian sailing team. A new top edition available on all the cars of the Arese company. From the America's Cup to the road. The partnership between Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa takes a new important step and after the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa is declined with a new special series dedicated to the entire range. Thus the Alfa Romeo Edizione Luna Rossa was born for all the models of the Arese brand: Giulia, Stelvio, Tonale and Junior. The debut on the occasion of the Preliminary Regatta which takes place in Naples, less than a year from the 2027 America's Cup which will be staged in the shadow of Vesuvius.

A new top of the range version

This is a new top offering for the Biscione line-up, with dedicated stylistic details starting from the Alfa Romeo logo finished in red and chromatic elements in black, white, gray and red to reflect the color and livery of the Italian boat. Even inside the cockpit there will be some exclusive elements, with the Luna Rossa writing on the seats for example.

The partnership between Biscione and the America's Cup team

The collaboration between the Arese car manufacturer and the Italian team involved in the America's Cup also continues in the water, with Alfa Romeo making its expertise available in terms of simulations but also vehicle dynamics and virtual analysis. In particular, Il Biscione is collaborating on the writing and now development from a performance perspective of the control software for the circuits that move Luna Rossa's sails which are then tested by the America's Cup team on the simulator and then applied on the boat and fine-tuned by the crew.

Exclusive design for Tonale and Junior Luna Rossa

On Alfa Romeo Junior and Tonale, the Luna Rossa edition stands out for its new gray livery, inspired by the Personal Flotation Devices, the rescue devices worn by the crew on board, with the Luna Rossa liner crossing the side in the lower part of the door. Alternatively, the bodywork can also be finished in black or white. Also present are the Alfa Romeo logos in red and the Glossy Black body kit which underlines the contrast with the bodywork. On the Junior there are 180'' alloy wheels with Glossy Black finish while the same treatment is applied on the 20'' wheels for the Tonale.

The interiors of the Luna Rossa special series

On board both cars we once again find the Alfa logo in red, with the use of color combinations and materials that recall the world of the America's Cup. On Junior we find door panels and seats with a dedicated grille treatment, with stitching and Luna Rossa logo, as well as ad hoc graphics on the dashboard and tunnel. The latter then has graphic elements that are inspired by the structure of the sails. On the Tonale, however, the seats with premium fabric have the Luna Rossa lettering and new tone-on-tone gray stitching on the dashboard and door panels. The console, on the other hand, has black elements, which also appear on the door panels and air vents. Tonale's ambient lights then have a geometric pattern that once again recalls the nautical world. On both models we then find 3D Knit technology, a fabric that transfers the codes of activewear into the passenger compartment, combining a structured look with an exclusive three-dimensional pattern. It is unique within the Stellantis universe. On both models we find the sports pedals and the aluminum door sill plate.

The engines of Junior and Tonale

The new Luna Rossa edition is available on both BEV and electrified versions. In particular, the Junior Edition Luna Rossa is available with both hybrid and electric engines. The hybrid range features a 145 HP 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo engine and 6-speed eDCT automatic transmission, available in both front-wheel drive and Q4 configurations. The electric version delivers 115 kW (156 HP) and is powered by a 54 kWh battery, combined with an automatic gearbox. Tonale Edizione Luna Rossa is available in all engine versions, including the Plug-In Hybrid Q4 version, which combines a 270 HP 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive. The range also includes the Hybrid version, equipped with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, 175 HP and 7-speed automatic transmission, as well as the Diesel version, equipped with the 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, 130 HP, and 6-speed automatic transmission.

Giulia and Stelvio

For the top-of-the-range sedan and SUV, however, there are even more exclusive details, starting from the extensive use of carbon fiber which underlines the sporting link between Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa. Liveries in white, black or Etna Red are available for both Giulia and Stelvio, with the Luna Rossa logo on the mirror caps also in composite material, the Alfa Romeo emblem in red as well as the front shield in carbon fibre. On the Giulia there are miniskirts and spoilers with a treatment that recalls the Quadrifoglio version. The rims also have a dedicated design, with burnished and red brake calipers, 19'' for the sedan and 21'' for the Stelvio.

In the cockpit, however, there is a monochromatic environment, with the Luna Rossa lettering for the seats and the carbon insert on the dashboard. From the point of view of materials, leather is used in addition to ECONYL fabric, made with nylon obtained from the recycling of fishing nets recovered from the seabed. The leather-covered dashboard and door panels combine with carbon decorations extended to the dashboard, central console and doors; furthermore, the specific red Alfa Romeo logo on the steering wheel and the Luna Rossa graphics on the dashboard complete the customisation.

The engines for Giulia and Stelvio

From an engine point of view, both Edizione Luna Rossa models are equipped with the 2.2 turbodiesel with 160 or 210 HP, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive on the 160 HP version and Q4 all-wheel drive on the 210 HP version. The 280 HP 2.0 GME petrol engine is available in the UK and in non-European regions.

Price of the Alfa Romeo Luna Rossa edition range

Orders for this special version models will open on September 25th. The Alfa Romeo Edizione Luna Rossa range will officially enter the marketing phase in Italy. List prices start from 37,800 euros for Junior, 48,950 euros for Tonale, 71,250 euros for Giulia and 73,350 euros for Stelvio
