American envoys in Moscow for peace talks

According to American Axios, the American envoys are to meet both President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during their trip.

Witkoff and Kushner have been to Moscow a number of times before but this is the first time they have visited the Russian capital this term. The last US-led peace talks stalled in connection with the US starting the war against Iran earlier this year.

- They have a plan to end the war, Donald Trump said before the trip and declared that "there may be a good chance that we will do it".

In connection with the visit, the Ukrainian military is said to have received orders not to carry out attacks for the next four days, Ukrainian Pravda reports with reference to sources within the military.

On X, Ukrainian President Zelensky writes that there will be no airstrikes from the Ukrainian side during the time it takes to carry out the talks. He calls on Russia to do the same.

At the same time, the Russian attacks have continued during the night towards Saturday. Four people were killed in an attack outside Dnipro, the region's governor says. Another five people were injured, one of which was life-threatening. In the town of Boryspil, 35 kilometers from the capital, a nine-story residential building was damaged.

Tonight's attacks mark the ninth consecutive day of Russian attacks on Kyiv. Over 50 people have been killed and around 100 people injured in the attacks, Kyiv Independent reports. Ukraine has responded with long-range attacks against Russian oil industry.

Witkoff and Kushner's visit has reportedly been planned for months, sources told Axios. The visit was reportedly confirmed only to be canceled several times in the past few days alone. The trip takes place just over a week after CIA chief John Ratcliffe met with heads of the Russian intelligence and security services in Moscow.
