Fire was opened at the enforcement point in Ankara: 1 police officer was martyred

Police teams stopped a vehicle during the "shock" application in Ankara's Pursaklar district. According to AA news, while the identity checks of the people in the vehicle were being carried out, the suspect sitting in the back got out of the vehicle and shot police officer Ahmet Türkoğlu with the gun in his hand.

POLICE OFFICER AHMET TÜRKOĞLU WAS MARTYRED

Upon notice, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Türkoğlu, who was taken to Pursaklar State Hospital after the intervention of the teams, could not be saved despite the interventions and was martyred.

THE SUSPECT ATTEMPTED SUICIDE, 2 SUSPECTS WERE CAUGHT

After the incident, the suspect shot himself in the head with the same gun and was seriously injured. The two escaped suspects were caught as a result of the work of the teams.

STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR CANBOLAT

Ankara Governor Yakup Canbolat, in his statement to the press in front of the hospital, said that they encountered a sad incident.

Explaining that a vehicle was stopped at the "shock" application point on Karacaören TOKİ road at around 23.25, Canbolat said that there were 3 people in the vehicle, and while the identity checks of the people in front were being carried out, the person in the back got out of the car and fired 2 shots at the police officer.

Governor Canbolat stated that police officer Ahmet Türkoğlu could not be saved despite all the interventions and said, "Unfortunately, our heroic police officer was martyred. The vehicle escapes, the 2 people in the vehicle were captured, they were taken. The perpetrator of the attack shoots himself in the head right after the incident. He is also being intervened now, but his condition seems to be serious. Get well soon to all of us. We wish God's mercy to our martyr. Our condolences."
