Ankara-based 'Dragon Hacker' operation: Data of millions of people was seized

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the teams of the National Intelligence Organization, Cyber ​​Security Directorate and Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Cyber ​​Crimes Branch Directorate, under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the panel named "Dragon Hacker", which allows the illegal interrogation of personal data, was examined.

In the technical investigations carried out within the scope of the investigation into the crime of violating the Cyber ​​Security Law No. 7545, 101 million identity information and 118 million GSM numbers of the Republic of Turkey were found on the server of the illegal query panel. It was determined that there was identification number data. It was determined that the panel was not only used to query personal data, but also operated as a structure that brought cyber threat actors together. It was determined that the system mediated illegal data provision, illegal query systems, phishing infrastructures and fraudulent activities.

As a result of technical and intelligence studies carried out within the scope of the investigation, the identities of 2 suspects were determined. It was determined that Eyüp Can, one of the suspects, was the founder and manager of the panel, and Abdullah Kazan was the one who advertised the system and helped it spread. Following the findings, the teams carried out simultaneous operations at 2 addresses determined in Diyarbakır and Istanbul. Eyüp Can and Abdullah Kazan were caught and detained during the operation.
