18.9 kg of liquid methamphetamine was seized at Antalya Airport

As a result of the work carried out within the scope of the fight against drug smuggling, the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce seized a total of 18 kilos and 921 grams of liquid methamphetamine in the operation carried out at Antalya Airport.

Antalya Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams checked the 2 under-the-rack suitcases of 2 people who entered Turkey by air. During the searches and controls, 6 kilos 572 grams of substance, which was considered to be liquid methamphetamine due to its color, odor and appearance, was seized in plastic bottles. During the continuation of the checks, substances that were thought to have been absorbed into various clothes/items, weighed 12 kilos 350 grams and were considered to be liquid methamphetamine, were detected.

As a result of the operation, a total of 18 kilos, 921 grams and a substance considered to be liquid methamphetamine worth 70 million 955 thousand liras were detected. An investigation was launched by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Commerce, it was stated that "As the Ministry of Commerce, we continue our determined fight against all kinds of smuggling activities, especially drug smuggling, which threatens public health and especially our youth."
