Forest fires are under control in Antalya, Kayseri and Adana, the fight continues in some regions

General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) announced that the forest fires in Antalya's Serik, Kayseri's Yahyalı and Adana's Karaisalı and Feke districts were taken under control.

In the statement made on GDF's virtual media account, it was stated that the fires that started in non-forest areas in Antalya's Serik, Kayseri's Yahyalı and Adana's Karaisalı and Feke districts were taken under control. It was noted that cooling efforts continue in the said regions.

2 FIRE INTERVENTION CONTINUES

It was stated that the fires in Antalya's Aksu district and Adana's Kozan district were intervened by air and land, and the struggle to take the fires under control as soon as possible continued. It was also stated that 7 planes, 22 helicopters, 188 water trucks, 8 work machines and 1000 personnel took part in the fires in question.

The fire, which started in the forest area near Karaöz District of Aksu district, spread under the influence of the wind and spread to Kepez district.

Due to the fire, the Northern Ring Road and the section of the Antalya-Isparta highway from Antalya center to the Northern Ring Road were closed to traffic as a precaution. The road was opened to traffic in a controlled manner in the morning.

The teams intervened in the fire, which continued to affect a large area around the Karaöz, Hatipler, Yeşilkaraman, Kızıllı and Çamlıca neighborhoods, with water pumps and work machines throughout the night. The fire reached all the way to the Antalya-Isparta highway, and the flames were prevented from crossing the highway with the intensive intervention of the teams.

AIR-INTERVENTION STARTED AS THE DAY WAS LIGHT

Airborne intervention started against the fire at the first light of the morning. In addition to 5 planes and more than 10 helicopters, 110 water trucks and more than 600 personnel are participating in the work. Teams are continuing their efforts to control the fire.
