Anzio and Nettuno, five policemen arrested for corruption and drug trafficking

Five police officers from the Anzio and Nettuno police station were arrested on charges of criminal association against the Public Administration. A preventive detention order in prison was issued against them by the investigating judge of Rome. The investigations, conducted by the DDA of Rome and delegated to the local investigative section of the SCO with the support of the Capitoline flying squad, made it possible to reconstruct the illicit activities carried out between 2024 and 2025 by public officials who, through the illicit management of some confidential sources, allegedly participated in some episodes of the sale of narcotic substances.

The investigations

The investigations revealed that drug trafficking in the Anzio and Nettuno area was managed by a group of Italian and Albanian individuals, who were prosecuted separately. In this context, the five policemen, in agreement with some members of the group, organized a "controlled delivery" and a "delayed seizure" of 25 kg of cocaine, omitting the subsequent seizure of an entire batch of 50 kg. During the operation, at the end of a chase, a road accident occurred in the countryside of Anzio-Nettuno, in which an employee transporting the load of cocaine died.

The crimes

The suspects must now also answer for the embezzlement of sums of money stolen from individuals arrested for drug dealing. These are sums that have not been seized, even though they derive from an illicit activity. There were also several allegations of forgery against public officials following the drafting of reports that were substantially different from the evidence acquired.
