Apple's Smart Glasses Reportedly Set for 2027 Launch with Four Design Options

Apple is reportedly planning to launch its first smart glasses in 2027, with a potential unveiling event scheduled for the end of this year. This information comes from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has been consistently reporting on the company's strategy for smart glasses.

According to Gurman, Apple is currently testing four different designs for the upcoming eyewear. These designs reportedly include a large rectangular frame, a slimmer rectangular frame similar to those worn by CEO Tim Cook, a larger oval or circular frame, and a smaller oval or circular frame. The company is also considering various color options, such as black, ocean blue, and light brown.

This development represents a potential shift from Apple's earlier, more ambitious plans for a wider range of mixed and augmented reality devices. Those initial plans have reportedly faced product delays and a less-than-enthusiastic reception for the Vision Pro headset.
