The tree that fell during construction work in Avcılar passed by, only missing the woman

During the foundation excavation of the building in Avcılar, a tree with some of its roots left outside fell down due to the wind.

According to DHA, a woman who was about to enter the building narrowly escaped being stuck under the tree. The moment when the tree fell was recorded on the security camera.

The incident took place on Friday, October 2, at around 17.30 in the Merkez District. During the foundation excavation of the building, some of the roots of the approximately 10 meter tall tree located on the side of the road were left without soil. The tree fell down due to the wind.

Meanwhile, a woman who entered the building narrowly escaped being trapped under the tree. The woman, who was hit by some of the branches of the tree, entered the building without being injured. The tree falling and the woman's last minute escape was recorded on the security camera.

Upon notice, firefighters and teams from Avcılar Municipality were dispatched to the scene. With the work of the teams, the tree was cut into pieces and removed. Engin Gül, a resident of the neighborhood, stated that they applied to the contractor and Avcılar Municipality to prune the tree, but their warnings were not taken into account, and said, "The municipality teams did not buy it because it was private land. We told them while we were doing the excavation, but they did not take it again. Now, who will pay for the damage to our building? This place is always full of vehicles. It is lucky that it was empty at the time of the incident." Özcan Şen, whose house's windows were broken, said, "We hope it will cost us money instead of our lives. However, who will cover our losses? In this cold, we will only be able to replace the windows tomorrow."
