Azzurre chasing the World Cup "the 'Franchi' is the extra weapon"

The atmosphere of the 'Franchi' to take another step towards qualifying for the World Cup. The Italian football team returns to the stadium which has celebrated other successes in the past to face Belarus again: the national team coached by Andrea Soncin, in the stadium where they celebrated their passes to the 2019 World Cup and the 2022 European Championship, is ready to add another piece, not yet decisive, in the race towards the next edition of the world championship tournament.

In Tuesday's match (6.15 pm) at stake will be qualification for the second and final round of the play-offs (1 and 5 December with the winner of the match between Finland and Serbia). The 2-0 won on a neutral pitch in Tbilisi represents a starting point, but now Italy wants to close the Belarusian affair. "We are working to improve those aspects that were missing in some situations two days ago - declared Manuela Giugliano -, we must try to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself because with the goals the confidence of the whole group also increases".

The Roma captain thinks back to the successes achieved at the 'Franchi' in 2018 and 2021, the first with Portugal, the second with Israel (12-0). "I would like to relive the same emotion of those two evenings. It is a stadium that brings us luck and we are very happy to be able to play such an important match in Florence. We obviously hope to see many people in the stands." Eleven goals for Italy in 104 appearances, Giugliano's next 'mission' is to experience the third World Cup as a protagonist. "It's one of my goals, as it is for all of us. We work hard every day to be able to have an experience like this. The World Cup is the best we can aspire to and we want to be ready, also because we still lack something to achieve with the national team. What's certain is that I will give and we will give everything we have inside us to get to Brazil and bring home an important result."
