The first Hainan "Tourism Safety Destination and Tourism Police Cooperation" project was launched in Sanya

China News Service, Sanya, Hainan, September 11th (Zhang Yuehe) The launching ceremony of the first Hainan "Tourism Safety Destination and Tourism Police Cooperation" project was held in Sanya on the 11th.

At the invitation of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, within the framework of this project, the Serbian Ministry of Interior selected eight police officers to perform a two-week joint police patrol in Hainan Province to jointly safeguard the travel safety of citizens of the two countries and deepen bilateral law enforcement cooperation.

According to reports, during the implementation of the project, Serbian police officers and Chinese public security police will patrol in mixed teams at tourist attractions in Sanya and Haikou. They will cooperate with the Chinese public security police to resolve relevant safety demands of Serbian citizens in China, provide police advice, and jointly create a safe and orderly tourism environment.

Marko Dokic, the Serbian captain of the China-Serbia Police Joint Patrol Team, said that through joint patrols, communication with Serbian citizens living in China can be more effective. At the same time, Serbia and China can share practical norms to further deepen trust and learn from each other.

Sun Wenpeng, the Chinese leader of the joint patrol team, said in an interview that the joint patrol team will scientifically optimize patrol routes and service arrangements. The main patrol areas will be arranged in popular scenic spots with a large number of foreign friends, and dynamic adjustments will be made based on actual conditions such as weather and the flow of people in the patrol areas to provide consultation, help acceptance and dispute resolution for Chinese and foreign tourists to create a safe tourism environment.

It is reported that since 2019, the police departments of China and Serbia have sent joint patrol teams to each other many times to carry out joint patrols. In 2024, Serbian police officers came to China for the first time to perform joint patrol missions. They conducted a 12-day joint patrol in Sanya and achieved good results.

Zhao Shaofeng, Director of the Hainan Provincial Public Security Department, said that this tourism police cooperation is another important measure for the law enforcement agencies of China and Serbia to continuously deepen cooperation. The two parties will take this opportunity to continue to strengthen the exchange of experience in tourism security governance and further enhance the level of law enforcement cooperation between China and Serbia.
